Die Pirmasens Praetorians freuen sich, ihren neuen Head Coach vorzustellen: Michael Edwards. Gebürtig aus New York, hat Coach Edwards die Hälfte seines Lebens in Deutschland verbracht und bringt so eine einzigartige Mischung aus amerikanischen Wurzeln und lokaler Erfahrung ins Team.
Als ehemaliger Soldat war Edwards schon lange vor dem großen Aufschwung des Footballs in Deutschland in den 1980er Jahren sowohl als Spieler als auch als Trainer aktiv. Mit 68 Jahren Lebenserfahrung und jahrzehntelanger Football-Expertise ist er ein echter Veteran des Sports.
Zu den letzten Stationen von Coach Edwards zählen die Baden Greifs im Jahr 2022, die Frankfurt Universe im Jahr 2023 sowie zuletzt die Kaiserslautern Pikes im Jahr 2025. Sein umfangreiches Wissen und seine Führungsqualitäten haben diese Teams mitgeprägt und werden nun auch den Praetorians zugutekommen.
Coach Edwards freut sich sehr auf diesen Neustart in Pirmasens und hat seine Wertschätzung für die positive Energie und das Engagement des Teams im Training betont. Bevor er sich endgültig in den Ruhestand verabschiedet, hat er sich entschieden, noch einmal die Pfeife in die Hand zu nehmen und uns mit seiner Führung zu ehren.

Introducing: Coach Edwards – New Head Coach of the Pirmasens Praetorians
The Pirmasens Praetorians are proud to announce their new Head Coach: Michael Edwards. Born in New York, Coach Edwards has spent half his life in Germany, bringing a unique blend of American roots and local experience to the team.
A former soldier, Edwards was already active in German football as both a player and a coach long before the sport began to take off in Germany in the 1980s. With 68 years of life experience and decades of football expertise, he is a true veteran of the game.
Coach Edwards’ most recent coaching positions include the Baden Greifs in 2022, Frankfurt Universe in 2023, and most recently the Kaiserslautern Pikes in 2025. His deep knowledge and leadership have helped shape these teams and will now benefit the Praetorians.
Coach Edwards is excited about this new beginning in Pirmasens and has expressed his appreciation for the positive energy and commitment the team is putting into training. Before fully retiring, he has chosen to pick up the whistle one more time and honor us with his leadership.
